Dakota Fanning could be about to become the envy of girls everywhere.
It's being reported that the War of the Worlds child-star is in talks to play a major character in the sequel to Twilight, opposite teen heartthrob du jour Robert Pattinson.
According to E! Online's Marc Malkin the 14-year-old -- who turns 15 on Feb 23 -- has already been offered the part as Jane in New Moon, the follow-up to the smash hit movie.
“There were no auditions,” a source told the site. “They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”
Sounds like a juicy role too. Jane is an evil leader of the much-feared Volturi vampires, who tries to do in RPattz character, Edward.
Malkin says that Jane is described in the casting notice as a petite, but terrifying, blonde with a “Botticelli angel-like face…and crimson irises.”

Sounds pretty much on the money to us, except, perhaps for the crimson eyes bit.
