English actor Daniel Craig pulls off playing an American cowboy in his new film Cowboys & Aliens and told the Today show this morning that he watched old cowboy movies to prepare for the role, but he wasn't prepared for the aliens!
Daniel's best known for his role as James Bond, but he's taking a turn at a different type of action film in Cowboys & Aliens.
"We watched everything from Stagecoach onward," he explained to Today on how he prepared for his role. "I got the chance to work with real cowboys and wranglers, and I just watched the way they walked and talked and the way they held themselves…stole the bits I liked."
But his cowboy training didn't prepare him for the alien part of the film.
"The actual aliens made me scream out loud," Ann Curry confessed to him.
"They did? Good," Daniel said.
"How about you?" Ann asked.
"I screamed out loud," Daniel admitted.
"Really?" Ann asked. "Like a little girl, you did?"
"Yes," Daniel said. "I haven't seen it. I saw it the other night at Comic-Con at the premiere, but I hadn't seen all the effects coming together. I was really looking forward to it."
