At the Hollywood premiere of his new movie, December Boys, opened up to OK! about his burgenoning non-Harry Potter acting career.
“Hopefully people and casting directors will start seeing me as an actor and not as a character," the 18-year-old superstar confesses to OK!. "That was why I did December Boys. It was also nice to play someone tamer, much quieter than Harry.”
In the flick, which opens Sept. 14, Daniel plays an orphan who goes on a seaside holiday with his fellow orphans and soon they all hope that one of the local families will adopt one of them. In real life Daniel also acted like an older brother to his fellow cast mates, offering them some career advice. “I told them that it’s very important to not look at any articles or reviews," he explains to OK!. "Any hurtful articles really get me down.”
One thing Daniel isn't afraid of is stripping down to his bare bottom for the play Equus, which enjoyed a succesful run in London's West End and is now slated to make the move to the bright lights of Broadway. But the young actor tells OK! he's not frightened at all about baring all for an American audience. " I don’t care about nudity," Daniel explains. "I’ve already been nude in front of millions of people."
