American Idol winner David Cook has just announced his spring tour — and it sounds like it’s going to be a big one!

Not only is he doing a massive 38 dates, but he says he wants to have a show like the spectacular stadium-rock gods, U2.

David, who won the last season of the show, told AOL’s that he’ll be hitting the road on Feb 13 to promote his brand new, self-titled album.

Starting out in Tallahasee, Florida, and finishing up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on April 25, the stage-show will be influenced by a 2002 performance by the Irish band, known for their towering sets and theatrical onstage antics.

David told the site that the show has been inspired by, "seeing U2 at the Super Bowl a few year back. It was just very poignant. Not overdone, but definitely powerful."
