Debbie Reynolds admits she had some "rocky times" with Elizabeth Taylor, involving a love triangle with Eddie Fisher, but says she and Elizabeth were friends since they were 17.

Debbie spoke with Access Hollywood on Wednesday morning when news of Elizabeth's death first broke.
"You had a rocky sort of history with Elizabeth but you buried the hatchet and became friends right?" Billy Bush asked Debbie.
"Oh we were friends since we were 17. We went to school together at MGM studios," Debbie explained. "Elizabeth was already a young great star, and I came over to the studio when I was really young and we went to school together, so we became little girls together and had a lot of fun together, and I was at her wedding with Mike Todd, and went through all her different turbulent times and even gave her my husband for goodness sake," she said with a laugh. "What a good friend can you be!"

But that's all in the past and she only has fond memories of Elizabeth.
"I think of Elizabeth as really fun. She was really fun and in her earlier part of her life she had a wonderful time she had a swinging part of her life, and in the last part of her life she was a very giving girl, "Debbie said. "She really learned how to work for charity, worked for HIV, worked very hard because Rock was a great friend of hers, and when all that happened she joined right in, and she worked really hard for that cause. It meant a lot to her. Her work and charity meant a lot to her."
And remembering Elizabeth's laugh, Billy asked Debbie what made Elizabeth laugh more than anything?
"Well, a good dirty joke…She was fun, she was rowdy, she liked to have a good time," she explained. "She liked to have a laugh. She loved men. She loved Montgomery cliff, and her best friends were always fellows."
