Diane seemed to be in an especially good mood and perhaps it had something to do with being the only American designer worn by Duchess Kate during her weekend in L.A.
Diane told reporters of Kate, "She is not a style icon, she is so much more than that. She is so sure of who she is and she never let's go of that."
The evening featured a special screening of Sarah's Key, which tells the story of an American journalist in Paris, Julia Jarmond (Kristin Scott Thomas), whose own world is turned upside down while researching an article about the Vel' d'Hiv Roundup in 1942 in France.
