According to reports, yes.
American Idol execs have been scrambling to freshen up the show and fill the judges' panel. They snagged Mariah Carey, and are reportedly close to signing both Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, but the Wide Awake singer was apparently the one that got away. (See what we did there? Sorry, had to.)

Katy was reportedly offered $18 million first, which is what Mariah is said to be getting. When Katy turned it down, they offered $20 million, but still no dice.
"She was being hotly pursued," a source told Us Weekly about the offer. "They really wanted her."

Katy recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the idea, saying, "People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved, and it's not right for me yet."
So, while we're not exactly surprised by Katy's refusal, we are a little shocked that she turned down that much cash. Must be nice.
