Sean "Diddy" Combs kicked off Art Basel in Miami, Fla! The international art show is all the rage so it's no surprise the mogul bought a neon piece of art during a preview by British artist Tracey Emin.
The piece called "I listen to the ocean and all I hear is you" set Diddy back a whopping $95,000 (equivalent of 60,000 GBP), as reported by The New York Post. Sources at the art fair's VIP preview on Wednesday night said he "asked for a discount, which he was given, before he bought the piece." As for other A-listers shopping for new artwork? Naomi Campbell was checking out artwork by Brooklyn-based Mickalene Thomas. They weren't the only ones getting their art on! Cameron Diaz's ex, Alex Rodriguez, hosted a show by NYC painter-sculptor Nate Lowman at his batting cage in his Miami mansion. Apparently it served as an unofficial housewarming fete as well and many guests talked about the sleek, modern home with very few personal possessions on display other than a giant Atari Pac-Man console and a jet ski on the deck. The Yankee slugger invited art collectors and stars into his home like Owen Wilson and Val Kilmer. A source mentioned, "Alex became more interested in collecting art after building the house and was introduced to Lowman."
