Directors Guild Nominations Are Out! 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' Got a Nod! Who Got Snubbed?

The Directors Guild of America has revealed the five directors who have walked away with nominations for their outstanding films this year — and there are some surprises!

Filmmakers Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris), David Fincher (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Martin Scorsese (Hugo), Alexander Payne (The Descendants) and France's Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist) were all nominated by the Directors Guild today — an honor that is often a key indicator of Oscar success!

But left out of the running were some outstanding directors, such as, Moneyball's Bennett Miller, The Help's Tate Taylor, War Horse's Steven Spielberg, Bridesmaids' Paul Feig and the one and only, George Clooney, for The Ides of March.
