Dirty Dancing is without a doubt one of Patrick Swayze's most iconic films, as more than 70 percent of you agreed in an OK! online poll. But ever wonder where Patrick's character Johnny Castle practiced lifts with Baby (Jennifer Grey)? In the small town of Rockford, N.C., where the residents are paying tribute to the late actor and have organized a memorial service for the Dirty Dancing star this weekend.
According to the Associated Press, the town has put tremendous effort into organizing the service.
"We've gotten a lot of calls from the community, from people wanting someplace to go," said Michelle Whitaker of the Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority to the RRS. "The idea was born of people calling and requesting, 'What can I do? Where can I go to pay my respects?'"
The town memorial service will be Saturday at Firefly Cove, the site where the summer camp scenes were filmed in 1987.

"We do more Dirty Dancing tours than property tours," said Terry Tincher, the broker for Firefly Cove. "It's amazing the following that movie has."
The service is free and visitors will be asked to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
