Only seven days and counting until the new season of Project Runway is unveiled. Our lovely intern, Alison Moodie, attended a mini-fashion show at New York City's Lincoln Center which featured looks from the 15 new contestants (as season two villain Santino Rice snapped digital pics in the front row!), and got the chance to chat with host Heidi Klum, Runway mentor Tim Gunn and judge Nina Garcia about what will unfold with the newest competitors.

How do this season’s designers compare to the other years?

Heidi: The most important thing is that they’re talented and we make sure of that. We went to four cities in America and we did this huge, huge casting for these two days. So there were thousands and thousands of people. So the 15 designers are really talented and after that, it’s kind of in the air.

Tim: I will say though, of which I’ve said: every one of the 15 designers is talented enough to win the entire season. Any one of them.

Who would you say takes the cake for drama this season?

Nina: There are always new issues!

Heidi: One person has a spitting technique of marking their marks on the fabrics. I’ve never seen things like that. Those are things that you can’t write – that’s what a reality television show does!

Heidi, are you a little meaner this year than what you’ve been?

Heidi: I don’t think so! But sometimes the other judges like something and I don’t, and we have to battle it out. We do. Sometimes we sit there all day and they’re like, “Can you guys come up with an answer?” and we’re like, “No!” and we go over a list of pros and cons.

How hard was it to come up with new challenges this season?

Heidi: You learn by doing things. Sometimes we have challenges with weeds and plants and they have to make things out of that. Maybe normal designers don’t have to do that kind of thing but it really shows the creative side because you can make something really boring out of leaves but some make something really spectacular.

Do you think a celebrity edition of Project Runway could work? And if so who’d be your dream cast for that?

Tim: I can’t even begin to speculate!

Heidi: I don’t know if they can make it work like they do. It’s pretty hard. They actually have to sew and cut fabric and do all of that stuff. That’s pretty hard.

Nina: JLo, Gwen Stefani – they’re all celebrity designers. Beyonce… That would be fun actually to see the three of them!

Project Runway, season four, premieres Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
