Before Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, passed away in August, the musician and recovering addict had been working on a drug-intervention series, Gone Too Far. Since his death from a suspected drug overdose, the status of the show has been in question -- but now The Hollywood Reporter says MTV intends to air the reality series.
According to the report, MTV hasn't made a final decision, but sources say the network expects to air the program. They've also been discussing the show with DJ AM's family, regarding the timing of the release.

Due to the intervention aspect of Gone Too Far, with DJ AM acting as the sober and experienced guide for addicts, advocates of the show were concerned it would come off as hypocritical or exploit the celebrity's death. However, some believe in the light of DJ AM's sad passing, the show could have an even greater impact with its anti-drug message.
Eight episodes were shot before DJ AM died -- just three days before his death he Tweeted about wrapping the show, which was originally to premiere Oct. 5.
