Donna Summer Died Of Lung Cancer Not Related to Smoking, Says Family Rep

Brian Edward, a representative for the family of the late Donna Summer, released a statement regarding the legendary singer's cause of death: she died of lung cancer, and was a non-smoker.

“Obviously, numerous factors can be attributed to the cause of cancer in general, but any details regarding the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of Ms. Summer’s case remain between her family and team of doctors,” Edward said.

He also stated that this statement was released because “various reports currently surfacing about the cause of Ms. Summer’s death are not accurate."

E! News confirmed Donna's passing on May 17.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Sudano, and three daughters, Brooklyn, Amanda and Mimi.
