Calling all original ER fans! NBC has announced that Anthony Edwards will be returning to the long-running show, reprising his role as Dr. Mark Greene for one episode of the final season. Wait--didn't Dr. Greene die at the end of season eight?

Edwards will appear in the episode titled "Heal Thyself", airing Nov. 13. It's a dream come true for the show's producers who had hoped to celebrate ER's long-running success by bringing back the original cast.

"We had hoped to bring back some of ER's stars for the final season and think that our loyal fans will enjoy seeing of of the show's most beloved and memorable characters," said executive producer John Wells.

Edwards, a four-time Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner, first appeared in the original pilot for ER (along with another now famous tall, dark and handsome actor).  He continued on the show for nearly eight memorable seasons before completing his run in a highly rated episode at the end of the 2001-2002 television season.
