Jane Seymour does some serious smooching with a guy half her age in her new movie Dear Prudence.

But as she tells the TV Fanatic, it’s all in the name of good detective work.

Playing an overworked advice columnist who’s forced on vacation by her boss, Prudence, played by Jane, fills up her free time trying to solve a murder.

She gets a little help from her colleague Nigel (played by cutie British newcomer Ryan Cartwright.)

The May-December liplock happens while the detecting duo is staking out a motel.

“I suddenly grab him kiss him full throttle as a cleaning lady comes by,” says Jane, explaining that Prudence engages in the kiss to help them keep a low profile.

“When Nigel asks isn’t it out of place to be kissing me in the middle of the day, I tell him not in front of a motel,” Jane laughs.

While there’s nothing going on between Prudence and Nigel, Jane says the sparks do fly between Prudence and a local police officer, played by Law & Order: Criminal Intent alum Jamey Sheridan.

“There is a bit of romance,” she teases.

Jane so loved her A-type, over-the-top alter screen-ego, she’s ready to sign the dotted line to launch a Dear Prudence movie franchise.

“The producers have already asked me about it,” she confesses. “I love the character. She’s definitely a lot of fun.”

Dear Prudence premieres Saturday, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.
