DVR This: She's Got the Look Finale

Thank goodness for marathons! This past Fourth weekend, I caught up with the reality competition series She’s Got the Look, the TV modeling search where being 35 and over is a prerequisite.
One of the final four: Karin, Bahia, Celeste or Tanya, will walk away with a hot contract with Wilhelmina Models. According to judge and celebrity stylist Robert Verdi, it will all depend on how well she works the cover.
“We’ve given them a challenge to come up with their own cover for Self magazine,” he shares. "They'll have to apply all the things that they’ve learned.”
Ooh, that kind of challenge could lead to some serious drama. I'm thinking stolen cover headlines and disappearing wardrobes. But as Robert explains, these women don’t have time for games.
“They are grown-ups who have been through a lot more than an 18-year-old girl,” he shares. “They’ve got legitimate jobs, marriages, boyfriends and breakups. They already have texture, that’s why you don’t have this insanity you see on other shows. They are competitive, not vicious and bitchy.”
As for the gal who has had the most dramatic transformation in the competition? “Definitely Karin," he declares.
"She came in not knowing much. She was a little too skinny, her teeth aren’t perfect and it seems like her body is being controlled by the strings on a marionette. But the camera just loves her. And now that she actually understands that, she has become a woman who is changing, evolving and feeling empowered.”

Robert has some sage style advice for the 35-plus set. “If you’ve been there, done that, don’t do it again. You don’t want to look 16 from the back and 61 in front,” he laughs.
The Look judge stresses as you get older, you should stack your wardrobe with the classics. “Add a great pencil skirt, a shaped white shirt, a great black trouser and a fitted black turtleneck, and everything should have just a little stretch to fit your curves. You then pop them with great accessories: fabulous jewelry and expensive shoes and handbags.”
And the one item every woman should have hanging in her closet? “A great Diane von Furstenberg dress. It looks great at any age.”
I'm already at the department store, Robert!
She’s Got the Look, season finale, airs Wednesday, July 9 at 10 p.m. on TVLand.
