Things just got spicier! What do you get when you cross Entourage without the lifestyle and Sex and the City sans the ladies? Meet HBO's new pilot, 40, from the creator Entourage, about four friends in NYC whose lives chronicle real life struggles of men dealing with marriage and friendships. Better yet, actor and filmmaker Ed Burns is set to star!

Here's the scoop: Ed will star as a wealthy banker who suddenly needs to pick up the pieces after his bank collapses. Considering Ed is a native New Yorker himself, it seems like a no brainer he got the part. He often writes and directs films based in NYC, so to act in this series interacting with four main characters in the big city makes perfect sense. Although it's being dubbed a Sex and the City for men, something tells us it will have less Manolos and martinis and more testosterone.

The rest of the cast hasn't been announced, but according to the producer Doug Ellen (he also created Entourage), "It's something I've lived with my friends." He told Variety (via Huffington Post), "People were thinking that 40 is the new 20 and their life is all set -- and all of a sudden they woke up one day and had no money."
Sounds like a fabulous show to us! Who else would you like to see cast alongside Ed?
