Eliza Dushku Reveals She Was Only 14 When She Tried Her First Drug
Eliza Dushku is opening up about her struggles with substance abuse, and the actress made a shocking confession that she was only 14-years-old when she tried her first drug. Dushku recalls that the journey down her long road of substance abuse started with pot. Speaking at the New Hampshire Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness in Manchester, New Hampshire, she began, “It was fun, and I loved it, until it wasn’t. Drugs didn’t love me. They didn’t love my family. They definitely didn’t love my friends that died.”
The Bring It On star, who has been sober for eight years, continued, “I got sober for my family. But today, I’m sober for me, and I’m sober for you. Because drugs and alcohol are powerful, but we are more powerful.”
“It can be so scary,” she said. “I just remember, I loved the first time I took a drug because I loved the way it made me feel. I loved the way it made me not feel. I didn’t have to feel.”

“I’m a good person, but when I did drugs and I drank, I didn’t make good decisions,” Dushku said. “I’m sure some of you can relate to that, but all it takes is one bad decision.”
