Rumor has it Elle Fanning will be playing opposite Angelina Jolie in the upcoming Disney movie, Maleficent, which tells the darker story of the classic kids' tale Sleeping Beauty.

Angelina is set to star as Maleficent, the evil villainess who sets out to destroy Princess Aurora. So who will play the angelic sleeping beauty? The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that Elle is up for the role!

The film, directed by Richard Stromberg and based on the screenplay by Linda Woolverton, is set to start shooting in June in London. (Pack up, Brangelina brood!)
