In The Help, Emma plays Skeeter Phelan who is set on telling the true story of what it's like to be a black maid in Mississippi in the 1960s.
Emma was able to find some common ground to relate to her character in that she thought she wanted to be a writer growing up.
"When I was younger, I always wanted to be a writer or a journalist, and I don't think I'd be much good at it, but it was really wonderful to kind of live out that dream through acting," Emma told MTV News.
