According to GossipCop, the Sony film opened yesterday with a reported $35 million (yes, you read that right -- $35 million bucks!). This set a record for an opening on a Tuesday. This crushed the former frontrunner in this category, The Transformers. In 2007 the Shia LaBeouf film raked in $27.8 million.
