Fergie Defends Christina Aguilera's Super Bowl Song: "She's One of the Best Singers of Our Time"

Fellow Super Bowl performer Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas has Christina Aguilera's back after she messed up some of the lyrics to "The Star Spangled Banner" on Sunday.

Fergie defended Christina's performance to sports radio host Dan Patrick.
"You know what? It’s such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you," Fergie said (via Celebuzz). "I completely understand. She’s one of the best singers of our time."
"Nobody can take that away from you, but you get nervous at these things," she added. "We’re human."

And on Monday, Christina spoke out about her mistake and explained, “I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”
