Last night on the Late Show With David Letterman, a surprise guest read the Top 10 list! That was none other than First Lady Michelle Obama!
The first lady dished the list from the map room of the White House in conjunction with her new book, American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America.
Essentially, she read fun "facts" about gardening such as "Eggplants were originally cultivated for use as doorstops." Michelle later deadpanned, "Later this year the Supreme Court will finally rule on 'tomato' vs. 'tomahto.' "
And how about the No. 1 fun fact about gardening? She quipped, "With enough care and effort, you can grow your own 'Barack-oli.' " And right on cue, the first lady showcased a broccoli stalk carved with her husband's face in it.
