Frank Darabont Suddenly Leaves 'The Walking Dead'; Glen Mazzara Confirmed as Replacement

Frank Darabont, creator and executive producer of AMC's hit The Walking Dead, suddenly walked away from the show this week and AMC has now announced his replacement.

AMC released a statement (via Los Angeles Times) today saying that Glen Mazzara, Frank's former righthand man, will replace Frank after his sudden departure earlier this week.
The reason for Frank's departure remains a mystery, but AMC said it is "grateful" to him and that "his contributions to the success of The Walking Dead are innumerable. We continue to discuss his ongoing role with the series."

In addition, AMC made a point of saying that no production schedule changes were expected to be made under the new leadership.
