Gavin DeGraw Hospitalized After Being Attacked on NYC Street

Gavin DeGraw is in the hospital under observation after being attacked by a group of unidentified thugs on a NYC street. The attack led to his hospitalization and injuries including a broken nose and facial cuts. Perhaps most known for his hit, "I Don't Want to Be," as the theme song for One Tree Hill, he's currently touring with Maroon 5 and Train.

It's unclear as to what led to the attack in the East Village or how many people were involved. As reported by Reuters, New York police spokesman Lieutenant John Grimpel said the attack happened in the early morning hours on Monday. Gavin had just left a group of friends when the assault occurred.

A representative for Gavin issued a statement: "Gavin DeGraw was assaulted late Sunday night and taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation."
