George Clooney & Elisabetta Canalis Named as Witnesses in Berlusconi Trial

George Clooney and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis have been named as two of the 78 witnesses in the trial of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on charges of sex with an underage prostitute.

According to BBC News, Karima el-Mahroug (known as Ruby), the teenager who was allegedly paid by Berlusconi for sex, said she saw George and Elisabetta at one of his parties.
Prosecutors allege Berlusconi paid the 17-year-old to have sex with him on 13 occasions.
Berlusconi has denied the charges against him and trial is due to start on April 6.

Both defense and prosecution lawyers will submit their witness for trial on Tuesday.
Elisabetta has reportedly denied being at the party at the prime minister's villa near Milan on February 14, 2010 and George has his own villa close by near Lake Como.

Still, it will be for the judges to decide who will appear as witnesses.
