It may have taken everything he had for George Michael to come out as gay, but once he did, he never looked back!

REELZ's new docuseries, George Michael's Lonely Life, takes a look at the iconic singer's wonderful career and colorful life, also shining a light on the unfair criticism Michael received at the hands of a homophobic and judgmental media.

Openly gay as an old man, going to a park in North London to look for possible sex partners became a ritual for George Michael.

"I think after George came out publicly, he was almost evangelical about telling the truth. He wasn't about to be silence or shamed, he was going to be completely honest about every aspect of his life and about his sex life," says Former Attitude Magazine Editor, Adam Mattera, in the show teaser.

Michael became quite open about his love for cruising — despite the fact that he lived in an era when the pastime was widely regarded as a cliché "gay" hobby. He also held no secrets when it came to his vigorous sex life; in fact, two years after his death, two of his exes are still battling for a chunk of his fortune!

"I asked George about cruising. I asked if it was like a secret place for him… I think in a way it was something he had control over and could be free to feed his voracious sexual appetite and meet real people on a level… not be the superstar that everyone's chasing for an autograph," continues Mattera in the docuseries clip.

Sex with multiple strangers when you're famous was seen as reckless behavior by the press. But for George, his lifestyle brought freedom and happiness.

"I'm a very, very lucky man. My career is still a great joy to me, despite the media. I'm healthy, happy and living my life," Michael himself is heard saying in an old interview.

George Michael's Lonely Life airs Saturday, June 2 at 9:00 ET/ 8:00 PT on REELZ.
