Green Day Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong Returns to Los Angeles After Italian Hospitalization

Calling all Green Day fans! Good news: After a brief hospitalization in Bologna, Italy, Billie Joe Armstrong is back on his feet.

The rocker has arrived back in L.A., according to The Los Angeles Times. Although the illness itself hasn't been disclosed, reports indicated it was related to his throat. Reporters from one website in particular followed him at the airport. He mouthed, "My voice is gone."

His bandmates apologized to fans when they were in Italy because they didn't want to disappoint them. (Hey, what could be a better reason to cancel than being in the hospital?)
At the time, Green Day released a video statement: "We apologize profusely. Billie got rushed to the hospital last night due to illness. The doctors don't think it's a good idea for him to play today."

The band added, "We're beyond devastated. We're as sad as you guys are. Billie's extremely upset about it, and we'll see you very soon."
