Gwyneth Helping Madonna Through Divorce

In the midst of her headline-making divorce, it must be great for Madonna to have the help of a good friend like Gwyneth Paltrow, who told reporters on Monday that she's been offering her newly single pop star pal a shoulder to cry on in this tough time.

''She's a very good friend. I'm supporting her in all the ways that I can," confessed the Oscar-winner at the London premiere of her new film, Two Lovers. "I'm just there for her. I speak to her a lot."

In news that didn't really surprise anyone who had read a newspaper in the last year, Madge confirmed reports last week that she and hubby of seven years, British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, were getting divorced. Together, they are parents to two boys, 8-year-old Rocco, and 6-year-old Malawi-born son David, who the couple adopted in 2006.

Perhaps Gwyneth can empathize with the 50-year-old Material Girl. Her marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin has been the center of significant split speculation in the last year, though the couple has continued to deny there is any trouble in paradise.
