This is no April Fool's joke, today is Susan Boyle's birthday! No, we're not kidding. Really and truly, today is the day of birth for the shy singer who rose from complete obscurity, tucked away in her house in Scotland, to the winner of Britain's Got Talent in 2009. When video of SuBo singing "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables hit YouTube, she was catapulted to fame seemingly over night, with her clip hitting millions of views in a matter of days.
Since then, she's released two albums and is recording a third. According to The Press Association, Susan is celebrating with "a few well-known faces" at a party near her home in Blackburn, West Lothian in Scotland.

STV was there today on her doorstep and spoke to Susan about her big day.
“I have had lots of nice people at the door, lots of nice presents which I thank you all for," she said. “I have had lots of nice spa things you know, pampering things, make myself beautiful.”

Simon Cowell also reportedly sent her a message for her big day, saying: "Happy 50th birthday, Susan. You are an amazing lady and I hope you have a fantastic day."
