'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2' Has Biggest Opening Day With $43.6 Million!

With the U.S. premiere only hours away, fans are eagerly putting on their Potter gear and waiting in line at movie theaters across the country to see the final installment of the his franchise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. And we bet the box office numbers will be huge, judging on all the money the film made overseas on its opening day!
The Potter finale raked in $43.6 million on its first day playing in Europe and Australia — in 26 foreign countries, The Los Angeles Times report.
The film had the highest-grossing opening day of all time in Italy, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Finland and Australia, and on Wednesday the biggest in France.
The total box office gross was 82 percent higher than opening day sales in the same countries for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 in November 2010.

It has already been reported advance sales for midnight shows Thursday night have broken records and more than 6,000 shows this weekend are already sold out, according to stasts from Fandango.
The film has also been projects to beat out Warner Bros' The Dark Knight which holds the record at the $158.4 million domestic opening weekend.
