Heather Locklear Arrested for Suspected DUI

Following in the hallowed footsteps of stars like Mel Gibson and Nicole Richie, Heather Locklear became the latest star to be caught behind the wheel in an (allegedly) less-than-sober state, when she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in Santa Barbara on Saturday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a witness called the police after they spotted the 47-year-old actress "driving erratically" as she left a parking lot.

Later, a CHP officer found Heather's car in Montecito, where she had blocked a lane of traffic when she parked on a state highway. The officer attempted to speak to the actress and determined that she was likely under the influence.

Heather was then taken into custody, tested for drugs and alcohol, and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.

According to the Associated Press, Heather was eventually released from custody.
