Heath Ledger's body has been moved from a New York City funeral home.

"Heath's body was moved," a source inside the home confirms to OK!. "A coffin was brought out and put into a hearse and it drove off."

It is unknown where the body will be transported to, but the general consensus is it's headed to Los Angeles.

Although it was reported that the Ledger family was to arrive in New York on Friday for a private viewing, that a viewing was not scheduled and the family hadn't arrived yet — and they never did.

"His family was not here," the source adds. "No one was here."

Earlier in the day, a rep for Heath announced that funeral arrangements would remain private.

"At this time, we will not be releasing any information," the rep says. "There are no plans for a public service."

When asked for confirmation of the body move, a rep for the funeral home declined to comment.
