When Heidi Klum and Seal first announced they were separating, in January, their breakup seemed like one of the warmest and fuzziest on record.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that month, the 49-year-old singer said that the “great woman” he’d been married to for seven years had given him “four wonderful gifts” in the form of their children, and that he wasn’t ready to take his wedding ring off just yet. He added: “We were shocked about our rift because you go into these things with the greatest intentions.… When you say, ‘Till death do us part,’ those vows hold value.”
But their marital promises were worthless by April, when tensions began to run high between the ex-lovebirds. Seal countered heidi’s request for primary physical custody by demanding that both parents get equal time with the kids; he also contested heidi’s claim that there weren’t any joint assets that needed to be divvied up. (Seal is worth $15 million, heidi $70 million — so a lot is at stake.) neither of those two legal battles has been resolved yet — and now there’s a third front in their divorce war.
