Is Speidi really splitsville? Heidi Montag, and her legion of bodyguards, went to Santa Monica Courthouse today to officially file for legal separation from hubby Spencer Pratt. The reason for the separation? According to TMZ, Heidi cites irreconcilable differences.

But could this still be part of a Speidi scheme? Heidi did not file for divorce papers yet.

The legal significance of legal separation is that her earnings will become her separate property from the date of separation, TMZ reports.

The MTV reality star listed the date of separation as today, June 8.

According to the legal documents (obtained by TMZ), under the section "Community Assets and Debts," Heidi wrote, "No such assets or debts."

It does not specify whether Heidi and Spencer have a prenup, which keeps their assets separate, or if they are flat broke.

Heidi does not have a lawyer at this time.

Other reports currently surfacing on the Speidi front claim Heidi allegedly went to the Malibu Courthouse earlier this morning to try to file for the divorce, but was turned away (and sent to Santa Monica) because they reportedly do not handle family cases there.

Heidi is currently living with new BFF Jen Bunney in Malibu and, according to her Twitter account, she's in the process of writing a "sexy action hero movie."

As for Spencer's most recent Tweet regarding Heidi:

"I can't believe Heidi hacked into my Twitter and made you think I like the Shannon Twins. Those bad influences are Heidi's friends, not mine"

The "Shannon Twins" are Hugh Hefner's latest Girls Next Door, Karissa and Kristina Shannon.

Looks like a war made in reality heaven is looming!
