Hilary Swank: "I Believe in Having a Monogamous Relationship"

Hilary Swank isn't a fan of the word failure. She may be divorced, but that doesn't mean she's a failure or that she's given up on relationships that "go the long haul."

“A lot of people look at divorce as a failure," Hilary tells InStyle for their new September issue. "I really looked at my relationship with Chad Lowe, her ex-husband as 14 years of success. I will carry him in my heart forever. He’s part of me."

And her divorce hasn't changed her belief in commitment. Hilary now lives with her talent agent boyfriend John Campisi.

“We have friendships that we grow out of. But I believe in the long haul," Hilary explains. "I believe in having a monogamous relationship.”

But that's just Hilary's style and it translates to her fashion sense, too!

“People around me laugh because I still have a deep understanding of what a dollar gets you and how far to make that dollar go,” the actress, who grew up without a lot of money, reveals. “No wonder my closet is a hodgepodge. I have everything from Louboutins to Payless, from Gap to designer stuff."

"You don’t have to have a brand name on to be stylish," Hilary says. "You can mix it all together and it works.”
