Hines Ward may have made it to the Final Four on Dancing with the Stars with his suave moves on the dance floor and swoonworthy smile, but his pearly whites certainly weren't going to get him out of trouble with the LAPD! Last night on The Tonight Show, the Pittsburgh Steelers player talked about getting handcuffed by the cops after a night out with good friends.
Last week Hines and his buddies were out on the town for a few drinks, when the end of their night took a surprising turn.
"I put my seat belt on, I looked up and there was like maybe 20-30 police cars around me," Hines told host Jay Leno of his almost-arrest by the LAPD. "My first reaction is, I'm on Punk'd. I'm looking for Ashton Kutcher out there."
Ashton was nowhere in sight, but Hines and his friends were approached cops wielding weapons pointing in their direction.
"They put me in handcuffs, they pulled me up, they took the handcuffs off and said, 'You know what? We apologize. There's been a misunderstanding.' "
And that was it. The ordeal was over.
Reportedly, the car in which Hines and his female friend were driving was reported stolen. Cops ran the license plates and pulled the car over. Both Hines and the driver were placed in handcuffs, but she explained that she was the person who actually reported the car stolen.

"They're just doing their jobs," a collected Hines told Jay.
"Welcome to L.A.," Jay responded.
And Luckily Hines' run-in with the LAPD did not affect his dancing.
"Last week after, he did nothing wrong, and so that was fine, we were just back at rehearsals at 10 a.m. the next morning like nothing happened. Everything’s fine, we just went about business as normal," his partner Kym Johnson told OK!'s readers in her DWTS blog.
