NEWS'How I Met Your Mother' Producer Provides Sneak Peek on Season Eight

As How I Met Your Mother cruises into its eighth season on CBS, one thing's for sure: The producers are writing the show as if it's the last. Season nine is up in the air with negotiations continuing, but the brains behind the show know this season must go on so they're focusing on the here and now.

They told Entertainment Weekly they'd "love to keep going," but they're going to make a splash in the upcoming season premiere with the "hugest glimpse" of the ending.
In other words: Spoiler alert!
Executive producer Craig Thomas explained, “We go deeper into Barney and Robin's wedding day than we’ve ever gone before. We’re going to show the fans a glimpse of something that we hope will blow their minds." He added, “I hope the fans will feel they have part of the answer about how the series ends — and all new questions."

Plus, it's not exactly like the show will have Ted and Victoria whisked away to happily ever after. That's all we're gonna say about that. In other news, one episode focuses on stories ripped from the headlines — like crazy prenups.
Craig pointed out, “There’s a very fun story we get to tell about Barney's absolutely insane idea of what he’d want his crazy prenup to be. It’s going to be a Neil Patrick Harris tour de force. There are crazy fantasies, crazy flashforwards and, a true HIMYM insane, hilarious episode.”
