'Hunger Games' Sequel 'Mockingjay' to Become Two Movies!

Taking a page out of the Twilight playbook, the final installment in The Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay, will be turned into two movies, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2.

Lionsgate anticipates that after Catching Fire (where fans will be treated to a performance by Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman), movie viewers will eagerly await not one, but two, final flicks to top off the trilogy.
This means it will be the fall of 2015 before we see the last of Katniss Everdeen.
The Los Angeles Times surmises this is a genius marketing move in that each November, Hunger Games junkies can look forward to a fresh movie in their neighborhood theater. But the paper also cautions this might be a lot of pressure for the creative team behind it — afterall, it took a full 20 months for Catching Fire to take shape.

One thing is for sure, Jennifer Lawerence is on her way to mega Kristen Stewart-like stardom, an idea she's only beginning to embrace.

"I'm glad I took the role, but I was absolutely right about losing my privacy," she told Yahoo! Movies on The Hunger Games red carpet in March. "It keeps infuriating me, but then I have to realize that this is my new life, people saying 'Hey, I followed you home from the airport, I've been sleeping here, will you sign my autograph?' and I'm like well, that's weird and not OK."
Catching Fire hits theaters in November of 2013.
