Sept. 17 2010, Published 5:39 a.m. ET
In the new issue of OK! — on sale everywhere now! — Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi opens up about just how hard her struggles with unhealthy dieting, anorexia and bulimia were, just a few short years ago. She admits that throughout her most extreme bouts with anorexia, her friends, family and doctor were all concerned about her.
"My best friends were worried; my family was worried," Snooki tells OK! of how she was obsessed with her weight. "But with my personality, I didn't listen to anybody and always did what I wanted."

It got so bad eventually, with Snooki eating just a cracker a day, that she had to seek professional help.
"I had to talk to a doctor, and he told me, 'You know, you can actually die from this.' That scared me," she admits to OK!. "I almost died. I don't want to die. I love my life. I had just gotten too out of control."
