Jacob Lusk's Criminal Past: Straight From Jail to 'American Idol' Stage

Jacob Lusk spent a brief stint in the slammer before he captivated audiences with his powerhouse vocals on American Idol. So how was Jacob allowed to compete when he was in trouble with the law?
In Feb. 2009, Jacob was cited for riding an L.A. metro train without purchasing a ticket, TMZ reports.When Jacob blew off his court hearing, a warrant was issue for his arrest.
Almost a year later, in Nov. 2010, Jacob got his golden ticket to Hollywood after his Idol audition. Shortly after, he was pulled over by police for a traffic violation, and the warrant for his arrest was discovered.
Jacob went to jail, according to TMZ, and the following day pled no contest to the "train-hopping" charge in court. He was sentenced to 3 days in jail and 2 years probation.
After serving his time, Jacob begged the judge to dismiss his probation, so he could be on the show — Idol won't let contestants compete with pending criminal records.

And luckily for Jacob, the judge was merciful, and lifted his probation.
Reportedly, while in the slammer, Jacob sang to 170 inmates.
