JAMES BROWN'S SON AND PARTNER LEFT OFF THE WILL

'I, , also known as `The Godfather of Soul' ... have six living children.'' So begins the will of the recently deceased music legend, blatantly omitting the 5-year-old child he fathered with partner Tomi Rae Hynie. The will also omits Hynie, a former back-up singer for Brown. The reason for the exclusions? The bequest was signed before Hynie came into the picture. Further complicating things, Hynie was still married to another man when they wed. Though she had her previous marriage annulled, she and Brown never legally re-married. The issue will be brought to court, where Hynie's lawyer Robert Rosen predicts, ''At the end of the day, in my opinion, Tomi Rae Hynie will inherit 50 percent of James Brown's estate and the trust and the child, James Brown's son, will inherit one-seventh of the other 50 percent.''
