Lady Gaga certainly knew how to bring the final four American Idol contestants out of their comfort zones. The superstar served as last night's mentor on the hit Fox singing competition and shook things up! James Durbin later admitted, however, that he felt a bit uncomfortable with Gaga's actions — in particular the hands-on hip shaking guidance she provided.
"When I found out we were working with Lady Gaga I didn't know what to expect, because you never know what to expect," James said last night on-camera during the rehearsal package.
Gaga helped James out with his vocals and choreography for his second performance, “Love Potion No. 9."
"Don't be afraid to get into your body a little bit more," she advised. "Elvis moved his hips."
When James wasn't grooving enough for Gaga, the singer decided to show him how it's done, grabbing his hips from behind and swaying with him.

"When you move those hips you look sexy," she explained. "It puts the song in your body."
While James seemed to handle Gaga's hands-on advice okay, he later revealed that it was "awkward."
"To sum it up for me, it was awkward. It was unexpected and very uncomfortable," James revealed, via The Hollywood Reporter, of Gaga's groping after last night's show. "I warned my fiancée first. She didn’t like it. Only on Idol."
Gaga's advice led contestant Scotty McCreery to turn to God — kissing his cross after the singer suggested he make-out with the microphone as if it was his girlfriend.
"Everybody has their way of giving advice and getting their point across. She just has a very unique way," Scotty shared.
