Bad news for Janet Jackson and her fans — the singer has been hospitalized.
According to a rep for the 42-year-old hitmaking songstress, Janet "got suddenly ill" during the sound check before her scheduled concert in Montreal, Canada, on Monday evening and was taken to a hospital to be looked at.
While no further details have been made available about the specifics of the illness, reps say Janet's condition is being monitored and that they hope to reschedule the missed concert soon.

The singer is on a North American tour that kicked off Sept. 10 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is scheduled to continue tomorrow night in Boston. No word yet on whether or not that show will go on as planned.
