He may be like the king of the world right now with his hit show, How I Met Your Mother, new movie, Bad Teacher, and upcoming dream come true by writing and starring in The Muppets, but for Jason Segel, putting on the pounds was no laughing matter. In fact, he dished to David Letterman last night about one major inspiration: Unflattering photos his assistant snapped to get him into weight loss mode!

Consider it a photo intervention, if you will. He explained, "Unfortunately my assistant had a key to my room in case I overslept. She came in one day to wake me up and she took a bunch of pictures to show me what I had become."

At the time he was filming in New Orleans. "I really took advantage of it," he confesses. Plus, he was enjoying "the best food and booze anywhere." Although he was about 245 pounds at the time, last night Jason alluded to weighing in at around 215 now.

As David showed the grainy pictures to the audience and mentioning they were like showing pics of a crime scene, Jason joked, "That's my former stomach. It's artfully cropped, she was very tasteful."
