It’s comedian Jason Segel’s job to make people laugh for living, but on Friday the joked seemed to be on him as his Twitter account was hacked while the How I Met Your Mother actor was on his way back to L.A. from Australia.

“Just landed back in LA. Sadly account hacked while flying,” Jason tweeted after arriving home from the Muppets premiere in Sydney, “All they did was change my pic a bunch and a tweet about ‘not being mean to me.’”
Although Jason explained that he was up in the air while the hacker sent out messages from his account, some of his followers were hesitant to believe the jokester.
“Half as frustrating as getting hacked is those of you saying ‘yeah right,’” the 31-year-old explained via Twitter and justified himself again, “I've been on UA 840 from Sydney. No Internet on flight. 14 hrs.”

Jason made it quite clear that whatever the hacker was up to, he didn't find that amusing.
“For the record I also would never have used that profile pic. This is a lovely welcome home party,” the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor joked.
Catch Jason alongside Emily Blunt in the Five-Year Engagement, out in theaters in April of 2012.
