In his trademark all-black attire and sneakers, Jay-Z arrived at Hudson River Park's Pier 54 in NYC which transformed itself into a carnival, ferris wheel and all, for the Making Ordinary Extraordinary event. Along with Questlove, he spoke at his very own event bearing his name, The Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter Foundation's fundraising event to support its college scholarship.
Jay-Z told reporters it's so important to give back. "I think that it's really important for anybody that's been blessed, you know to look back." He added, "Someone told me this morning, someone e-mailed me and said, 'Some people climb the ladder and grab the ladder. Some people go up the ladder and just pull, and pull more people up the ladder. You are a person who pull more people up the ladder.' I was really humbled by that. That was an email I got. The first e-mail I woke up to."

As for the exciting baby news, if he's more scared or excited at being a first-time father, the rapper quipped, "I'm excited. I think that's pretty easy." And when it comes to instilling a sense of charity in his child, he told OK!, "Oh--that's a long way away. I think anyone's actions--I think you emulate good deeds and actions. I think just by being a great role model."

Considering the event is for charity, Questlove also dished to OK! about the type of parents Jay-Z and Beyonce will become. "Well-grounded ones. They are two well-grounded human beings. Their children have a bright future ahead of them." Awww.
