Jennie Garth Celebrates 40th Birthday & 'Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country'

How's this for nabbing two birds with one stone? Last night wasn't only the launch party for Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country, it was also the 40th birthday fete for the star herself, Jennie Garth!

Jennie told reporters, "What a great time in a woman's life. I wasn't sure what was going to happen or what I was going to feel about it. Even on the day I turned 40, I wasn't sure, but now having turned the corner, it's really empowering. Being 40 is really awesome."

After she turned 40 on April 3, Jennie mentioned she gained a "sense of certainty...an inner strength." The new reality star said she's still discovering who she is but "whatever it is, I know it's going to be good."

Enjoying country life and it's serenity, Jennie's assistant as well as her girls have been helping her get through the divorce. As for her assistant, she's been providing comic relief.

"She has given me the gift of laughter during this time which has been big. She has brought a lot of levity into our home. And the girls and I really look forward to that." Jennie's support system also includes 90210 friends like Shannen Doherty who also attended the party.

Shannen talked about supporting other women, especially during trying times. "She knows I’m here so she obviously knows she can call me up and talk to me about anything. I think you do things like coming here today and showing your love and being supportive of her show and watching her show. You know it’s important for women to support other women, it’s incredibly important. I have a lot of respect for her and a lot of love for her. So I’m totally excited about seeing her show, I can’t wait."
