Getting her chance show America her talent, Jennifer Hudson's journey on American Idol was just the beginning. Wowing with her powerful vocals, Jennifer made it to the top three, but was robbed of the winning title. With her undeniable talent, Jennifer kept moving forward and won the part of Effie White in Dreamgirls, a role that changed her life. Her performance not only scored her a record deal, but she took home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Continuing her acting career, Jennifer appeared in the big screen version of Sex and the City alongside Sarah Jessica Parker. In 2008, Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David Ontunga, and just a month later, tragedy stuck when her mother, brother and young nephew were fatally shot in their home. The following year, the songstress won a Grammy for her self-titled debut album and gave birth to a baby boy. Continuing to heal from the loss of her family members, Jennifer is the spokeswoman for Weight Watchers and has inspired many with her new thinner, healthier figure.
