Jennifer Hudson wants everyone to know that she has "never been happier." The Oscar winning actress and singer, 27, recently became engaged to fiance, Harvard-educated attorney David Otunga and recently told Jet Magazine all about the proposal.
"He proposed and gave me a ring," Hudson said. "It was very romantic; he's a very unique, different individual. I am happy."
Hudson shot down rumors that her engagement is a publicity stunt and proudly wears a 5-carat Neil Lane platinum ring.

The happy news also accompanies the release of Hudson's first CD, and a starring role in the upcoming movie The Secret Life of Bees, co-starring Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah. "It's a film about togetherness and sisterhood," Jennifer said. "At the hardest times, those women came together and showed what we could do if we all just come together."
